Tonight marks the highly anticipated premiere of “Annie” at 7:00 PM. This production is the culmination of dedicated efforts from students, staff, and a multitude of volunteers. Having had the privilege of a sneak peek, I can assure you that the performance will be thoroughly enjoyable. Additional showings will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Please refer to the provided ticket information for purchase details.
We are seeking enthusiastic student volunteers to assist with selling the remaining ten boxes of chocolates. As a reward, students will receive two chocolate bars for each box sold, with this opportunity offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Furthermore, we extend warm birthday wishes to Mrs. Blokker; please join us in celebrating her special day if you encounter her over the weekend.
Looking ahead, we anticipate a relatively standard week before the commencement of March Break, while also welcoming the longer days and the early signs of spring.

Kindergarten
Another week flew by in Kindergarten. The students have been busy with addition in our Math lessons, they have picked it up quite well. Next week, we will begin with subtraction. We are excited to be reading our Pet Fun books together. We heard about the walls of Jericho falling down and sang a fun song to go with our story. The children have been doing well singing the Easter concert songs, just a reminder to continue practicing them at home. With the wet weather, please remember to send in extra clothing and socks! Please send in the Toonies for Anchor, if you haven’t done so yet. That’s it for this week, we hope you enjoy your weekend! MV/DV
Grade 1
This week, the children were busy learning about King Saul, a king after the people’s hearts who did not obey the LORD. God would choose another king, a man after His own heart. We are enjoying the fables in our reader. In math, we have begun a unit about number families and using numbers to 100. Next Wednesday, we hope to go to the Agape Sugar Bush. Dress accordingly for that day. In Social Studies we are going to learn about famous Canadians.
Grade 2
Seems like the weather was a little bit of everything this week, leaving a lot of students soggy during the day. Please remember to send extra socks and clothing with your child. In Church History, this week, we continued with stories about Polycarp; next, we hope to learn about Martin Luther. In math, we continue to work through adding double digits and focus our attention on rounding numbers too. We look ahead to finishing our Zimbabwe unit in social studies. Hope you have a great weekend and a blessed Sunday. MB & BV
Grade 3
Guess where we went on Wednesday? Yup, Summit Station Dairy!!! The first ever trip made to that place! We had an amooooooozing time! 500 cows!!! Even a baby calf and a cow named Valentina! Ask us all about the details! What a great way to see a rural community in action! Thank you to our bus driver, Mrs. B. Stieva for driving us to and fro safely! In math, we are learning about financial literacy. Please continue to practice your multiplication facts, too. We finished our church history unit with a test on Friday. Please check your child’s agenda.
Psalm 47:2 for Thursday.
Please see your child’s agenda for the spelling words.
And… please bring in toonies for Anchor. Thank you!!!
Grade 4
It’s been a productive week as we’ve made progress in lots of areas. Students are working on a coat of arms to be displayed during our Medieval Day celebrations and will also be making a place mat to use while eating. We are wrapping up this very fun unit in the coming week or two in preparation for Medieval Day! Both classes are studying the Kings of Israel – there’s some nice connections between this unit and the songs we are learning for the Easter concert! Next week, both classes will have a quiz on map reading/cardinal directions and the provinces/territories (with capitals!) on Thursday. A reminder for all students to bring their recorders to school EVERY Friday for music class, please and thanks!

Grade 5
With one more week left until the March Break, we are busy trying to wrap up a number of things so that we can start fresh when we come back. 5A is very busy creating their dioramas, and the students are excited to see how they are turning out. We plan to finish them, then watch the movie on Thursday before the March Break with both classes. 5B will begin their dioramas after the March Break. On Tuesday, 5B will be having a test on Lessons 8-10 of our unit about Ancient Egypt, as well as a Unit 4 Bible test. Like always, students will be given time to review in class, but they should be studying at home as well to really be able to retain the information. We also get to go skating again on Wednesday! This will be our last time for the year. Parents, we’d love to have some help with tying skates again.
Devotions for next week are as follows:
5A: Adele (M), Eli (Tu), Emma (W), Nash (Th)
5B: Michaela (M), Helayna (Tu), Peri (W), Kenzie (Th)
Have a wonderful weekend! RK/KV
Grade 6A
We started a new unit in math on fractions. Our journal entry for this week for the novel was on Julilly’s impressions of the new plantation. With a short week next week there will be a number of things due on Thursday, follow the agenda schedule. In the Bible we continue our study of Isaac and Jacob as Jacob travels to Laben and labours for Leah and Rachel. In Science we continued our study of electricity, turning our attention to how we generate electricity. Have a blessed weekend, CVA MJ
Grade 6B
We had another busy week in Grade 6B. The students wrote a social studies test on Tuesday, a Bible test on Wednesday and a spelling/vocab. test on Thursday. We continued to work with integers and number lines in math class and developed our own stories in language arts. The week coming up will be another busy one. We hope to have a science test on Tuesday and a short church history test on Thursday to wrap things up before the March Break. I’m sure the students will enjoy the break from their studies at this point! Next week we hope to have the students bring home a rough draft of their stories to have a parent or older sibling/friend read through and edit. The students are quite excited to share what they have been working on! Enjoy your weekend.

Grade 7A
This past week we drew February to a close with a flurry of activity. We were able to volunteer at Gleaners and “water” others while being “watered” ourselves. We moved from global to local climate factors in geography and learned about elevation and relief; next week we’ll learn how a large body of water is a climate factor for Grimsby and Beamsville. We learned in Bible how the saints may fall into serious sins, but yet God will not allow His elect to be lost. Taking charge of the WLCC Spring Food Drive, the class has designed posters promoting the event. In history we learned the significance of such people as Thomas Talbot and John Graves Simcoe to our province’s history. Enjoy the musical and your weekend.
Grade 7B
It was a busy week for grade 7 as the students returned back to a normal routine after an abnormal week last week. The students have been working hard on a few projects such as a slideshow in history class and a poem in language arts class. Next week Wednesday, there will be a test in bible class about David which the students helped to create this week. Wishing everyone a great weekend!
Grade 8
It felt like school was truly back to normal this week, with the regular curriculum once again taking its rightful place in the classroom. We welcomed Alana Otten into Grade 8A and pray that she enjoys learning the ropes of working with young adults. This weekend is the school play, in which several of our Grade 8 students are participating. We wish them the LORD’s blessing as they perform for the community and showcase their God-given talents!
Next week, we will be wrapping up several subjects, including a writing assignment on the benefits of recess, our science unit on density and buoyancy, and a shortened unit on the Reformation in France.
Enjoy your weekend! TB/RT
