“Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.” Job 28:28
As we head into the much-anticipated March Break, I can’t help but feel that familiar excitement in the air. The promise of some time to rest and recharge is always welcomed, especially with the exciting weather we’ve been having! The warmth has been such a nice change, and we’re all looking forward to spending more time outdoors during the break, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the fresh air. It feels like the calm before we jump back into the swing of things, but there’s still a lot to look forward to when we return!
A big thank you to all the students for their fantastic performance in Annie! Your talent and dedication were truly impressive. We also want to express our gratitude to everyone behind the scenes—those who helped with sound, makeup, directing, staging, set design, and administration. Your hard work made this production a great success, and we couldn’t have done it without you!
Looking ahead, there’s an exciting basketball tournament coming up. Guido will be hosting the event at the Dofasco Center on Friday, March 21. It’s bound to be a thrilling day, so be sure to mark your calendars and come out to cheer on our teams!
March also brings with it a special occasion—Mrs. Kelly’s birthday! She will be celebrating on March 13th, right in the middle of the break. We wish her many blessings in the year ahead and hope she enjoys her birthday with her loved ones. May the Lord continue to guide and bless her in all that she does!
We’re also busy preparing for our Easter school concert. Save the Date for our performances on April 16th (matinee) and April 17th (evening). We look forward to sharing the message of Easter through a familiar program, and we’re excited to bring it to you!
After the break, we will begin collecting non-perishable items for the West Lincoln Community Care Food Drive. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to show support for our neighbors in need. Please consider contributing and helping us make a difference in our community.
That’s all for now as we head into this anticipated break. May you all enjoy this time to rest, refresh, and come back ready for all that’s ahead. Have a blessed March Break, and we look forward to seeing you all when we return!

Kindergarten
It was a wet week in kindergarten! We are enjoying the warmer weather but with it also comes wet socks, pants, mittens. Please send in extra clothes so your child can change into dry clothes if needed. We are also in need of baby wipe packages again. This week we finished our Bible stories about Samson and Ruth. After March break we will continue to review addition and start learning about subtraction. If you have some time during your break, we strongly encourage you to work on your spring break challenge books. We hope you enjoy your March break and look forward to seeing you all back on March 17/18. DV/MV
Grade 1
Grade 1 had a fantastic time at Agape Valley Sugar Bush this week. Our tour guides were very engaging, and kept the students interested even while the rain drizzled and dripped upon us. To finish off our tour, we were treated to a pancake and syrup snack. The students were even invited to lick their plates clean and drink their little portion of syrup. In social studies, we have begun to learn about famous Canadians. The students were introduced to Sir John A. Macdonald and Alexander Graham Bell this week. In Bible class, we heard about Saul’s disobedience, David’s anointing, and David and Goliath. The students were amazed to hear a previous memory work text embedded in the story! “For the Lord sees not as man sees. Man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart”. We are excited to begin our March break tomorrow. We pray that the students (and their families) have a wonderful time away from their studies. May God bless you with safety and rest. We look forward to seeing the students again on the 17th!
Grade 2
In our Church History studies this week, we’ve been working through learning a bit about Martin Luther and his work as a translator. It’s amazing to discuss as a class how important it is for each of us individually, or as a family unit, to be able to read the Gospel for ourselves. We have also wrapped up our Zimbabwe unit in Social Studies, and Unit 4 -The Job Hunt- in LA just in time for the March break. We are looking forward to starting our novel study after the break. That’s all for this week! Have a blessed weekend! BV&MB

Grade 5
The students found it very suspicious that ALL the teachers wore black, lost their mugs, and wore socks and sandals. On Thursday, when the teachers forgot how to match their clothes, many of the grade 5 students couldn’t get out of bed and showed up at school still in their pajamas! 😉
5A is still working on their dioramas, but is using the L.A. class time to learn about the components of story writing with Miss Wilpstra! 5B will start their dioramas after the break. More shoeboxes are needed, if you have them! While 5A is still learning about Ancient Egypt, 5B will start a new Science unit – Human Health & Body Systems – we’ll learn about the nervous system, circulatory system, respiratory system, etc. We will also be starting Unit 5 in Bible class, which is our last unit before we switch to Church History. Devotions for the week after March Break: Tayson (Tu), Harper(W), Mason (Th), Kolten (F). 5B – Jasmine (M), Emmett (Tu), Claire (W), Trenton (Th), Kingston (F). We hope parents and students alike have a very enjoyable and restful March Break! RK/KVL

Grade 6B
This week we did a lot of wrap up work. The science unit and church history units both ended with a unit test. Practice continued on concert songs and language arts stories neared completion. Please make sure that the students get their written copies edited by a family member or older sibling/friend during the March break. When the students return they will make one last edit and then present their stories to the class. We wish all the students and their families an enjoyable March Break! See you all again on the 17th.

This past week we learned that the saints may sometimes fall into serious sins as outlined in the later life of King David. We also learned how the LORD uses weak and sinful people from all times and places to further His church gathering work. After the break we’ll learn about the civil war and David’s usurper son. We’ll examine what causes climate change through a critical lens and listen to what Dr. Calvin Beisner thinks about the matter. In Math we’ll move on to the next chapter dealing with equations and inequalities. Enjoy your Break.
Grade 7B
The grade 7 students worked hard this week as we completed a few units before the March Break. The students wrote a Bible test about King David and we are looking forward to learning about Ulrich Swingli in church history when we return from the break. The students wrote a quiz about er/re/ir verbs in French and will be beginning a new unit about food after the break; the students should be able to translate your recipes into French during this unit ;). Wishing everyone an enjoyable March Break!
